and she said "why don't you come to my place?". I've not been on a date for the last 16 years, so I've got no clue about this.. But, the fact that she invites me home to her place, instead of us going out to have dinner.. Should a take it that she likes me? Or is it just that she'd like to be somewhere "safe"?

Approx age of you and said date? How well do you know each other? A house call seems too awkward inducing for me for the first few dates.

I almost always insist on drinks-only for a first date. First dates are interviews, and keep mine brief at 30min optimal, 1 hour tops.

I tasted a lot of peat.. No sorry.

Mostly stuff I already own or have tasted, I just tagged along with some friends who've never had a proper whisky. But I had Tallisker 12 and 18 years, Laphroaig (10 years I think), some glenfiddich and glenfarclas, glenlivet 8 years and the really awesome Port Ellen 1980.

And since I'm a tad bit too fond of whisky I brought a bottle of Port Charlotte an turas mor with me, that whisky is something else. Almost NO smoke, but TONS of citrus and some peppermint, fatty mouth feel, finishes of with.. I think pork rinds with mustard would be the best way to describe it.
